John Swift and Lewis Baker shared the involvement in England Under-20s'
third game in the Toulon Tournament, but a defeat by Mexico means third
place is the highest their side can now achieve.
Following on from a draw against Morocco and a victory over Ivory Coast,
the penultimate group-stage fixture pitted the young England side against
Mexico in match played outside of the host city.
Swift, having been an unused sub in the previous two matches in France,
started in midfield and it was from his lofted ball forward that England
took the lead for the third match running. Sunderland's Duncan Watmore was
the scorer with 15 minutes played.
The advantage lasted until shortly after the restart and 61 minutes into
the 80-minute encounter, England U20 boss Aidy Boothroyd made a triple
substitution including Baker replacing Swift. However it was the Central
America side who netted again and despite a couple of late England chances
the game ended 2-1.
To make sure of second place in the group England now need to beat China
in their next match and hope Mexico do the same against Morocco. Under the
competition's format that would mean a place in the third/fourth place
play-off. The final group matches take place on Friday.

England Under-20s will contest the third/fourth place play-off in the
annual Toulon Tournament in France following Friday night's 3-1 win over
China.
Lewis Baker, back in the starting line-up for the fourth group stage game,
resumed as captain and put his side 2-0 up not long after half-time.
Newcastle's Rolando Aarons had opened the scoring before the interval.
China halved the deficit but rapidly restored England's previous advantage
when the net they found on this occasion was the one they were defending.
A two-goal winning margin coupled with a defeat for Mexico against Morocco
earlier in the day guaranteed England Under-20s second place in their
group, the best they could hope for going into the match. Table toppers
Morocco and France head straight into the final with Aidy Boothroyd's
England side facing the USA on Sunday with the chance to improve on last
year's fourth place.
Baker's goal, his second at this level, came from a pass by Chelsea
colleague John Swift who retained his starting place and shot narrowly
wide early on. Both midfielders played the full match.

北京時間週一凌晨進行的國際友誼賽上，塞爾維亞隊長伊凡諾維奇身先士卒，首
開紀錄又梅開二度，幫助國家隊4-1戰勝阿塞拜疆。
2016歐洲盃資格賽後半程賽事將於下個週末打響，塞爾維亞必須力爭勝利，才有
機會殺入決賽圈。此番球隊在奧地利參加熱身賽，為接下來的正式比賽做準備。
開場僅僅19分鐘，隊長伊凡諾維奇就為塞爾維亞打進一球。上半時阿塞拜疆扳平

Chelsea Academy striker Tammy Abraham took a good end to the season with
his club onto the international stage on Monday afternoon, helping England
Under-18s win in Russia.
Abraham, who scored 41 goals for our development sides during the season,
including strikes in the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League-winning
campaigns, played the full match against Russia Under-18s in what was the
first of a double-header of friendlies.
He did not make the scoresheet in the 2-0 win although he helped set up an
England chance that was well-saved when the score was 0-0. The goals were
a penalty by Newcastle's Adam Armstrong and a long-range effort from
Fulham's Patrick Roberts who had been fouled for the earlier spot-kick.
The second match is also in Russia and takes place on Wednesday.

Chelsea Academy striker Tammy Abraham was introduced from the bench during
the second match of England Under-18s' double header away to Russia but
unlike the first game, tasted defeat.
The 17-year-old played the whole of Monday's 2-0 win in Moscow but was
among the subs two days later as coach Neil Dewship made six changes.
England went 1-0 down inside 10 minutes with Abraham one of six
second-half substitutes when he was brought on with 70 minutes played.
England levelled the scores 10 minutes later, Liverpool's Sheyi Ojo
converting a penalty after he had been fouled. However Russia won the
friendly international when they made it 2-1 in added time.
