Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have agreed terms for the transfer
of Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge. The move is now subject to him
agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.


Morata, 24, is a Spanish international forward, and helped Real to lift a
second successive Champions League last season.

Chelsea did not reveal the size of the fee, but Telegraph Sport
understands the Premier League champions will pay an initial ￡58m before
add-ons..... That is almost ￡20m less than the initial ￡75m Manchester
United paid for Romelu Lukaku, who had been Chelsea's top target.

Chelsea have agreed to pay a club record ￡70.6million for Real Madrid
striker Alvaro Morata. The 24-year-old Spain international was due to
leave Los Angeles on Wednesday night, where he has been with his Madrid
teammates, and head for London to sign a five year contract worth around
￡155,000-a-week.

Neither club disclosed the fee, yet AS understands that the Spanish
striker will move for a fee of €80m, with a further €5m in add ons.
Morata will sign a 5-year contract and will earn €9m (net) per year.
