Academy defender Jonathan Panzo has today joined French top-flight side
Monaco in a permanent transfer.
Panzo won the National Under-18s Premier League during his time in our
Academy and also played for the development squad.
In 2017 he was part of the England side which won the Under-17 World Cup
where he featured in all but one of their matches at the competition.
We thank Jonathan for his service and wish him the very best of luck for
the next stage in his career.

Sadly, my time at Chelsea has come to an end. I signed at the age of 9 and
enjoyed every single minute I've been at the club! I wanna thanks all the
staff and players , I am truly grateful ! But now it's time for a new
challenge, @AS_Monaco and I couldn't be more excited.

Official | AS Monaco snap up Jonathan Panzo from Chelsea for €3m

AS Monaco have completed the signing of the Chelsea youth product Jonathan
Panzo.
The 17-year old moves to the 2017 Ligue 1 champions for a fee understood
to be ￡2.5m, and was signed by the Michael Emenalo, the technical
director at the Stade Louis II, who initially became aware of Panzo's
potential during his seven-year spell in the same role at Chelsea.
Monaco are understood to have beaten the likes of Valencia, Borussia
Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig to the England U-17 World Cup Champion's
signature.
Panzo expressed his delight to the club's website in having secured the
move: “I'm really happy to join Monaco. It's a big club that's given me
confidence to young players and regularly plays in the Champions League.
It's another step in my career. I'm motivated by the idea of working with
the staff and playing alongside great players.”
