Marco van Ginkel picks up another knee injury, PSV transfer in doubt

Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel has spent the last couple years on
loan at PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie and had been favoured to return
this summer as well, perhaps even on a permanent transfer (assuming PSV
could afford him).

Any such plans however have been put on hold for now while Van Ginkel
looks to overcome the latest in the long series of knee injuries that have
defined his Chelsea career from just about day one.

Bad news.... Marco van Ginkel still has a knee problem, it's still not
clear if he'll need surgery.

Speaking on the matter, MvG's agent Karel Jansen made it clear that their
priority at the moment is full recovery rather than any transfer business.

經紀人表示目前優先事項是復原，而非轉會。


“In consultation with Chelsea's medical staff, we will look at the
situation. In any case, a transfer is not an issue at the moment. We're
going to try to solve it with rest, injections or another operation, all
these are scenarios which are weighed up. At the moment a transfer is
totally unavailable.”

 "我們會和卻爾西醫療團隊討論處理，所以轉會不是我們眼下要關注的事。治療方式
是要休養、打針或是再次手術都是我們要權衡的，現在討論轉會是不可能的。"


Recently, Marco was linked Fenerbahce (now coached by former PSV manager
Phillip Cocu), but Jansen denied those. If Marco is to move anywhere, it's
likely to be PSV.

最近的傳聞是費內巴切，他們的主教練是前PSV的科庫，但經紀人再次否認，並表示
要轉會的話最可能是回PSV。


“[A transfer to PSV] is not inconceivable, but at the moment very early.
PSV has received a very important meaning for Marco in recent years and
vice versa, he also feels trust and appreciation.”

Perhaps the only silver lining of this latest injury is that it keeps MvG
at Chelsea a bit longer, perhaps long enough for him to get a look at by
the coaching staff this summer?

Marco van Ginkel has undergone a procedure relating to the revision
reconstruction of his anterior cruciate ligament and treatment of chondral
damage in his knee. The expected recovery time is approximately eight
months.
