Lewis Baker has joined Championship side Reading on loan for the remainder
of the season having returned from Leeds United.

The 23-year-old midfielder spent the first half of the campaign with Leeds
where he made 14 appearances.


Baker was an FA Youth Cup and Under-21 Premier League-winner during his
time in the Chelsea Academy and he made his debut for the men's first team
away at Derby County in an FA Cup tie in 2014.


He will now continue his development with the Royals who are currently
23rd in the Championship table.


At international level, Baker has represented England at Under-16,
Under-17 and Under-19 levels before being called in to the Under-20 squad.


He represented England at Under-20 level as they finished fourth at the
Toulon Tournament in the summer of 2015, wearing the captain's armband in
the games he started. The 2016 Toulon Tournament was one of even greater
success. Baker was awarded the Golden Boot as England Under-21s won the
competition, his four goals including the opener in the final against host
nation France.


The midfielder started all three of England's group games at the 2017
European Under-21 Championships, and scored his first goal of the
tournament from the penalty spot in a 3-0 win over Poland.


At club level, he has also been on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons,
Middlesbrough and Vitesse in the Dutch top flight, where he helped them
win the Dutch Cup, their first ever piece of major silverware.
