The Brazilian had fired us ahead shortly before the interval with his
second successful spot-kick in as many league games, but we were unable to
hold onto that advantage for long. Tomas Soucek, who himself was denied

the first player to score a goal in every month of the year.
'I didn't know about that! I'm happy with the goals, but when we've lost
it's a bit difficult. I feel very disappointed. Now it's time to rest
well, recover well, and fight for the three points on Saturday.'

With Willian making history on Wednesday as he became the first player to
find the net in the Premier League in every month of the calendar year, we
take a look at how he achieved his unique record.

The Brazilian's brace against West Ham saw him reach the 10-goal mark in a
season for the fourth time and increased his league tally to 36 goals over
the course of seven seasons with the Blues.
Here is a breakdown of his league goals on a month-by-month basis.
== August ==
Willian's only goal for the Blues in the opening month of the season was a
right-footed effort in our 3-0 win over Burnley in 2016. He did find the
net in our season-opener against Swansea the previous year but it went
down as an own goal after deflecting off Federico Fernandez.

The Brazilian's scoring form tends to pick up in September. To date, he
has four league goals in the month including a spectacular curler against
