Chelsea open talks with Manchester City over double move for Sterling and
Ake. Juventus still holding out for huge money on De Ligt and talks
ongoing regarding Kounde.

He might not be a sexy name as such but Ake would make an awful lot of
sense. Specialist on left side of back 3, can deputise at lb and in mid,
and has PL/Chelsea experience. Plus Tuchel has liked him for years.

Also worth remembering within all of the transfer business that Chelsea
need to do that Tuchel needs at least a couple of players with leadership
qualities. Both aged 27, and with PL and int experience, Sterling and Ake
would provide that.

Juventus this week for Matthijs de Ligt, but price tag remains high.
Nathan Ake, always high on Tuchel's list. Sevilla would accept €65m for

accepted around ￡60/65m [add ons included]. Main part of amount to be
paid immediately. It's done between clubs. Talks now ongoing on player
side on personal terms and contract. Boehly, on it.

More on Raphinha. Arsenal had a meeting with Leeds and made a new verbal
bid in the last hours, turned down by LUFC. Barcelona also called Leeds
again but no chance to match Chelsea bid. Chelsea are now working to get

Told Chelsea are already in talks with Deco regarding Raphinha's personal
terms and hope to finalise an agreement with the player “within 48
hours”. Still some work to be done but Chelsea are moving very, very
fast. Boehly again taking the lead.

Arsenal sources are still not ruling out making another bid but their
latest offer fell short of Leeds' valuation. Nothing totally certain just
yet but Chelsea do think they have 'hijacked' the deal. Once again,
Raphinha has made no final decision at this point...

It is, however, clear that a CFC move is of appeal to him (and was in
January), hence why Chelsea think they can agree terms fast. Barcelona's
inability to match Chelsea's offer has helped as well. Sterling + Raphinha
would be a huge win for Chelsea's new owners.

Chelsea are hopeful they have done enough to clinch the transfer of
Raphinha after agreeing a ￡55M plus add-ons fee with Leeds United,
despite Barcelona late attempt to hijack the deal.

Chelsea have a five-year offer to Raphinha. CFC are putting pressure on
Deco to accept rather than delay to buy Barcelona more time. Financials of
the offer aren't a problem. But it's clear Raphinha doesn't want to decide
until he knows if Barcelona can reach a deal with Leeds.

Still being told Raphinha hasn't ruled out Chelsea. Boehly is not prepared
to let things drag on, though. CFC's tactic was to get a quick deal before
Barca can 'hijack'. But Raphinha won't be rushed and that helps Barcelona
hugely, especially since he has already agreed terms.

Leeds have still not accepted any Barcelona offer for Raphinha but
advanced talks continue. Barca feel progress made and want to pay any fee
in instalments. Leeds want a higher guaranteed fee because of this.
Barcelona's offer is still currently below Chelsea's ￡60 million.

Chelsea aren't prepared to just wait around, especially knowing Barca are
now confident. Leeds are open to a deal that's structured differently to
Chelsea's but they won't sell Raphinha on worse terms and that's been made
clear to Barcelona. Leeds also want sale resolved fast.

It is not true Raphinha has asked Deco to 'stop' negotiating with Chelsea.
There is just nothing to negotiate right now because the broad terms
offered are acceptable but he's just waiting for Barcelona, a move he
wanted long before CFC bid.

As reported last week, longer Raphinha delays the less chance Chelsea have
and they always knew this. Tactic was a quick sale. Barca still need to
finalise a deal with Leeds, though. Likely now they'll eventually match

top West Ham target. Ajax have enquired, too, & Napoli have a
long-standing interest. LCFC also monitoring situation. Chelsea's plan

A Broja sale won't help Chelsea get Declan Rice this window. West Ham want
Broja on a separate deal and won't entertain a swap to reduce Rice's huge
fee. Rice won't be allowed to leave this summer. West Ham continue to
price suitors out the market with any enquiries.

Chelsea hope to complete the signing of one of their two main defensive
targets this week as they continue negotiations over Nathan Ake and
Matthijs de Ligt.

They could face serious competition from Bayern Munich for De Ligt, with
the German champions confident they can hijack their bid for the

Discussions regarding a return to Stamford Bridge for Ake are thought to

Chelsea will complete the signing of Raheem Sterling today. A verbal
agreement has been in place since last week for a ￡45 million deal with
add ons finalised this week. Deal could rise close to ￡55 million. Clubs
always confident of a sale since never too far apart in valuation.

Sterling spoke to both Tuchel and Boehly prior to agreeing personal terms
and was always sold on the move. He was impressed by Boehly's negotiation
skills and given as much time as he needed to decide.

Told Tuchel explained in “meticulous detail” his role in the team.
Ronaldo's potential arrival (should anything materialise) was not brought
up by either.

Still nothing agreed today between Barcelona and Leeds for Raphinha. Barca
have tried to match Chelsea's offer but it's add-on heavy and instalment
based. Big few days ahead with Leeds losing patience and Chelsea pushing

Boehly are ongoing. An initial meeting was held last week and another took
place on Wednesday, with more discussions planned over the next 24 hours.

Told Barcelona's offer for Raphinha matches Chelsea's in total. The base
fee is less but the total package now the same. Leeds and Barcelona have
been in advanced talks for the past 24 hours. Nothing accepted yet but a
fast resolution now expected due to Leeds pushing it.

Laporta said a few days ago "no deadline" on deal. But Leeds have forced
Barca to act because they (& Raphinha) want everything resolved fast.
Leeds have already replaced Raphinha with Luis Sinisterra. Barcelona gave
their latest offer yesterday with talks on it continuing today.

therefore don't want a transfer to drag on. Barcelona (as they have

Raphinha is not in Leeds' pre-season party for their tour of Australia.
Big few days ahead as his future will be resolved. As previously reported,
he will not stay at Leeds beyond this window. Barcelona still do not have
an accepted offer but remain in advanced talks with Leeds.

It remains my understanding that Barcelona's latest offer, for which they
had a deadline to present of last week, is now over €70 million but only
€60 million guaranteed & paid in instalments. Value wise (if you just
look at total) it does match Chelsea's but base fee much less

Deco and Raphinha are getting frustrated. Barcelona have always said they
are confident of getting to an agreement. Big few days ahead with Chelsea
still watching closely.

Chelsea are hoping to have Raheem Sterling with them in time for their Las
Vegas stop. But he must first complete his medical in London. Five year
contract with option to extend. Sterling scored 91 EPL goals for MCFC.
Lots of excitement amongst the squad about his arrival.

Sterling was Chelsea's top attacking target and Manchester City and
Chelsea were never too far apart in valuation. Todd Boehly gave Sterling

Very, very tidy business. One down...

Sterling will be paid over 300k a week at Chelsea and he will become one
of the top three earners in the PL. Boehly/Clearlake showing they mean
business

Should also be stressed though that this was a football decision for
Sterling. He wants to play all the time and have the responsibility of
being the main man, which he will most definitely get at Chelsea.

Medicals already scheduled for Raheem Sterling in London in order to
complete his move to Chelsea on a permanent deal. Sterling signs with

The expectation, due to it now being a financially viable package, is the
Barca board will approve Dembele deal. It still remains to be seen whether
Barcelona will then pursue (& can afford) Raphinha. Still no agreement
with Leeds. Deco will turn to CFC next week if no progress.

Barcelona always maintained they want both players, & also still speaking

Chelsea want ￡7million to sell Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona. The
32-year-old has already agreed personal terms on a two-year deal with the
Spanish giants, which will see him pocket a substantial pay rise compared
to his Blues contract.

Azpilicueta will earn ￡11million a season before tax and has held talks
with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and new co-owner Todd Boehly about
making the switch. Chelsea want to recoup the ￡7m paid for Azpilicueta
when he joined from Marseille a decade ago, but there is a belief that
further negotiations will see the asking price lowered.

Tuchel is reluctant to lose Azpilicueta after already seeing Antonio
Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave for free, to join Real Madrid and
Barcelona respectively. However, with talks advanced to sign Manchester
City defender Nathan Ake, the door should open for Azpilicueta to follow
the pair to La Liga.

Can confirm Leeds and Barcelona have finally reached an agreement this
evening for Raphinha. My understanding is the €50 million + 10 fee is
incorrect (Leeds rejected that offer quite some time ago) and the deal is
actually worth close to €75 million.

€50 million + 10 would not only be significantly lower than Chelsea's
bid, but lower than Barcelona's own €60 million (guaranteed) rejected
offer yesterday. Barcelona were always confident of getting Raphinha but
it's not true the deal has been in place for weeks. Only tonight.

Robert Lewandowski will consider Chelsea only if his Barcelona move falls
through. Barca remain confident of finally striking a deal with Bayern,
who want close to ￡45m paid upfront. Lewandowski has said he'll wait for
Barca. Negotiations stalled but movement expected this week.

Lewandowski wants to leave Bayern regardless but Chelsea are wary of a
Raphinha repeat where they have an offer accepted and then it simply
prompts Barcelona to move. They have been told, though, the move is of
appeal.

If Lewandowski becomes a genuine option, which should be apparent after
Barca's latest offer, Tuchel is very much in favour of pursuing him, much
more so than Ronaldo. PSG also monitoring Lewandowski situation but this
early in the window he's going to give Barca time.
