deal. Initial request around €60/65m but Chelsea are prepared to submit
€45/50m proposal. Work in progress. PSG consider Kimpembe part of the
project - but he can leave in case of good proposal.

Chelsea will have more Presnel Kimpembe and Jules Kounde talks next week.
Personal terms not a guarantee with Kimpembe, who is settled in Paris.
Galtier has told Kimpembe it's his decision even if a fee is agreed. CFC
currently view PSG's ￡50m price tag as too high.

Big week ahead of negotiations for Chelsea to understand whether Kimpembe
can be got at closer to market value and realistic chance of deal. Told
Kimpembe is intrigued by a Chelsea move, more so than Juventus, but
Galtier has made it clear he's not surplus to requirements at PSG.

Jules Kounde transfer all depends on Sevilla, who are hoping for a bidding
war. Chelsea have actually never walked away but also reluctant to pay the
￡69m release clause or close. Barcelona (and others) circling, too.
Chelsea's last trip to Seville didn't provide a breakthrough.

Kounde's camp frustrated his future is still unclear and want it resolved
before the month is out. Thomas Tuchel does really want Kounde but it's
arguably a more complicated negotiation now than when the window opened
due to increased interest. Further clarity expected this week.

Matthijs de Ligt to FC Bayern, here we go! Verbal agreement has been
reached tonight as clubs have been in contact all day - final bid accepted
by Juventus for package worth more than €80m. De Ligt has already agreed
personal terms and will sign until June 2027.

FC Bayern final, verbal proposal for Matthijs de Ligt: €70m guaranteed
fee, €10m in easy/difficult add-ons. Juventus have accepted, contracts
will be completed early next week. Official contract will be sent also to
Matthijs and agents, already agreed until 2027.

Chelsea want to finalise deals for Jules Kounde and Presnel Kimpembe. They
are optimistic of signing Kimpembe, despite his reluctance to leave PSG -
who would want ￡42M -, after talks with N'Golo Kante and Thiago Silva.

Chelsea will sign a wing-back should Cesar Azpilicueta or Marcos Alonso
join Barcelona. Thomas Tuchel is keen to sign three central defenders this
summer and another wing-back.

West Ham closing in on Armando Broja. Albanian heading to London after
agreeing personal terms. Chelsea's position hasn't changed. They ideally
don't want to sanction a permanent sale. West Ham trying for an outright
purchase for around ￡30m but may have to settle for a loan.

Broja spoke to Thomas Tuchel to get some clarity on his long-term future.
It was reiterated that Chelsea don't want to sell him. So a lot now
depends on Broja himself. West Ham hoping he asks Chelsea to leave
permanently having sold the move based on first-team football.

Broja is currently pretty unsettled and sources indicate he will be
“relieved” to resolve his future. It's challenging flying late to the US
tour then returning early. High volume of clubs interested, too, including
Newcastle, meaning a lot has been up in the air.

Plus Broja has already had Vitesse and Southampton loans. It's not easy
changing clubs and dressing rooms season-on-season. That's why Broja is
intent on stability. West Ham can offer him that.

Broja always wanted to understand Chelsea's attacking incomings this
season, plus his long-term CFC future before deciding next move. West Ham
now looking very likely. But whether Chelsea green light a permanent sale
still remains to be seen. Both clubs working fast to resolve.

As a aside, loan could give Chelsea leverage with Declan Rice next summer.
If Broja does well, his value rises then he can be used as part of a
potential swap. Rice not available this window. This scenario isn't in
CFC's thinking yet. But a rise in Broja's value next year is.

straight-cash deal and are hoping for a bidding war potentially taking fee
closer to €65m. Chelsea hopeful of agreeing a fee this week. Barcelona
yet to formally bid with Sevilla waiting to see what comes from them.

Sources close to Kounde say he's excited by the arrival of Kalidou
Koulibaly and the chance to learn from him. But Xavi has made it clear to
Joan Laporta he thinks Kounde is a top priority, and that's why Barca are
expected to move imminently. Still an open race.

Presnel Kimpembe update. As previously reported, Christophe Galtier told
Kimpembe he's not surplus to requirements at PSG & any move away is his
decision even if a deal is agreed. CFC & PSG remain apart in valuation and
Kimpembe is very settled in Paris.

PSG will continue to listen to offers, but they are in no rush to sell
Kimpembe and could even extend his contract at the Parc des Princes. CFC
are still in contact with PSG but prioritising Jules Kounde for now.

Mason Mount and Reece James are both in line for lucrative, new long-term
contracts at Chelsea as part of plans to readjust the wage bill at
Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are set to open contract talks with the two academy graduates, who

‧ Chelsea can spend quite aggressively this summer and January without
   worrying about breaching FFP.

‧ If Chelsea spend ￡200-250m now and next summer they spend another
   ￡200m + they have to factor in outgoings.

Outgoings are not a necessity this summer such as Broja, who Chelsea don't
want to sell, they'll take that money reluctantly, Chelsea don't need to

Barca are waiting and relying on getting Kounde's full buy in. But CFC
sources also believe Kounde wants a move to London. That's the key
difference compared to Raphinha. Raphinha made it clear Barca was his
first choice. Kounde hasn't.

No doubt Chelsea are closer to a deal currently and growing in confidence.
Barca must respond, and Sevilla will listen if they do, but they want
things ideally resolved this week (before they go to Portugal). That helps

Chelsea expect to agree a fee with Sevilla for Jules Kounde today for

Thursday latest when they travel to Portugal. Kounde very open to CFC move

Barcelona have been told by Monchi they must make a move or walk away, &

My understanding on Jules Kounde is there has been an unexpected twist.
Barcelona have U-turned from Friday morning but are yet to table an
official bid. Chelsea felt race was won yesterday. They still have a full
agreement with Sevilla. Barca don't just yet.

Sevilla's position has always been Barca must formally bid fast & match
Chelsea's offer. Barcelona believe they can bid €40-45m and get closer
(not match) to Chelsea's overall fee with add ons. Remains to be seen
whether Sevilla accept. Again, no formal offer has yet been made.

West Ham never totally ruled out Scamacca & Broja. But Chelsea very
reluctant to sell Broja & for now pricing him out of market. Broja still
wants assurances of his role. Plenty of interest in him. A lot may depend
on whether CFC can find another attacker before he gets clarity.

Whereas Levi Colwill ideally wants to remain at Chelsea, and is not trying
to force a permanent exit, Broja is being a bit more bullish. He's had a
tough pre-season. More talks with the club will be held once Chelsea
return from America.

One key point being overlooked in this whole Jules Kounde saga is
Bordeaux. They take 20% from the sale. That's why Monchi still prefers
CFC's bid. Chelsea have further talks today on formalities around their
offer. Barcelona yet to table anything official as of Sunday morning.

Sevilla continue to deny anything has been agreed with Barca, formally or
verbally. But Barca are in the race, largely due to Xavi. They need to
offload to register, & ultimately agree a fee with Sevilla. Barca reliant
on both Sevilla & Kounde patience.

CFC, on other hand, exerting pressure. They want things resolved by early
next week one way or other, having thought deal was done 48 hours ago.
Chelsea haven't given up at all. Lot of noise from Spain because they feel
Kounde wants Barca. But Barca must move to satisfy Sevilla.

Chelsea have still not agreed on a fee with Sevilla for Jules Kounde. They

There's nothing in writing between Chelsea and Sevilla yet, so Barcelona
could still disrupt the Kounde deal if they magic some money out of
nowhere. At least they're making this deal even more interesting/tedious.

One point is that this wasn't a priority for Tuchel at start of summer.
Went for other defenders first, so if there's any change in structure of
fee/disagreement over add-ons it wouldn't be a surprise if Chelsea walk
away. But pressure to sort the defence out is huge

Kounde situation - Chelsea still working on it. Worth remembering that
Monchi is a notoriously tough operator and Chelsea thought they had him
last year only for the goalposts to move v late. Barca situation not
helping this time. Not done but not over, either.

Chelsea still have a number of players who want to leave the club
including captain Cesar Azpilicueta, Timo Werner and Marcos Alonso.

Barcelona have received indications from Jules Kounde's camp in the last
hours: the player would be prepared to accept personal terms proposal.
Xavi, also called him. Chelsea discussed personal terms with Kounde days
ago, but still no green light from Sevilla/player.
