neohippie說他有看完整篇論文，然而內容卻完全解讀不出他想要的意思。
一個人斷章取義只為圓一個謊，要另一個人花時間看完整篇文章來糾錯。

這是內容大綱，正因為作者們把ageing、death of old age、cancer等等..
都規納為演化的適應機制(adaptive mechanism)，所以才會有這段話：
「ageing and death of old age – and when death of old age is not an option,
cancer – are the large, population-scale equivalents of the DNA repair/
programmed cell death/ageing mechanism, working together to maintain
continuation of life by sacrificing individuals in order to preserve the
whole.
這些機制的總合形塑了人類物種面對天擇的適應。如果一個人沒有死於老化，
如果一個人不會老，那麼也會有癌症作為最後的檢查點。這裡的individual並
不是指特定某一種人，而是你我，是個體，我們終將要死，而族群才能存續。
作者在演化角度上的解說非常詳細，不會讓neo 有狡辯的機會，這段是這樣講的：
「Again, one could hypothesise that ageing is the normal, default process to
allow (almost) every population member a chance to reproduce and mix its
own genes into the genetic pool, and then to leave the stage for its
successors, so that different genetic combinations are tried and tested.
Only when cells manage to escape the many complicated mechanisms that order
them to age and eventually die, comes cancer, the last checkpoint, and the
ultimate fail-safe mechanism which eliminates genotypes that threaten the
homeostasis of the population, the species and life as a whole. Certainly,
it would be very simplistic if we imagine this as a premeditated event;
it is, rather, a naturally occurring phenomenon such as cell division or
ageing.」
作者所有的假定都是建立在個體已經「有機會繁殖並且讓個體基因間結合」。
才去討論癌症的角色，根本不是像neohippie所說的，去指摘個體的生存能力。
作者有很大一段都在講述，個體有足夠能力生存到繁殖年齡，又有足夠時間育養後代，
確保基因傳承，然後就會逐漸衰老死去，因為活太久反而對族群有害。然後才描述癌症
為何在演化上有其角色。
即使一個個體有幸長生不老，最終癌症也會找上他。為什麼呢？因為長生不老的基因型
態對於整個族群是有危害的，癌症其實就像自然衰老等機制一樣，不過都是預防人類永
生的一個自然手段。
這篇根本就不是在講癌症淘汰了誰，也不是在講癌症患者是不適者。作者們擺明就是在
說「人終究會死，得癌症就像衰老跟自然死亡一樣平常，所以不可能治癒，就像追求永
生一樣，其實是違逆自然的，畢竟自然資源有限。」
一篇明明白白是在講「你不是不會得癌症，你只是還沒得，如果老化沒有找上你，癌症
也會」。怎麼會有人解讀成癌症患者是要被淘汰的？
neohippie一方面講到達爾文，說「你要看整段文章，不能只看一句解讀」；但是別人
引用文章大量內容來反駁，他就反而說「你看這句就這樣講，一句就夠了」，然後其
他就當作沒看到。這種雙重標準為免太可笑。
事實上，思考這篇透露的哲學與信仰意涵，遠比執著在有沒有汙名化癌症要來得有意義
。人一直在追求長生不死，但卻有越來越多的不治之症，人一直想青春永駐，然而克服
老化的另一層意義就是吞噬更多的資源，而這個現象的具體呈現，就是活生生的癌症細
胞，當你的身體內真的有不老不死的存在，你的生理本能反而是避之唯恐不及。
