When Moses ascended on High to receive the Torah, the ministering angels said be
fore the Holy One, Blessed be He: Master of the Universe, what is one born of a
woman doing here among us?
當摩西升到高處領受律法時，服侍的天使們在聖者面前說，祂是應當被稱頌的：宇宙的主宰
，一個從婦人所生的在我們中間做什麼？
The Holy One, Blessed be He, said to them: He came to receive the Torah.
聖者對他們說，祂是應當被稱頌的：他來領受律法。
The angels said before Him: The Torah is a hidden treasure that was concealed by
You 974 generations before the creation of the world, and You seek to give it t
o flesh and blood? ……The rightful place of God’s majesty, the Torah, is in th
e heavens.
天使們在祂面前說：律法是一個隱藏的寶藏，在世界被創造之前被你隱藏了974代，而你要
把它給血肉之軀？……神的威嚴的正當之處，律法，是在天上。
The Holy One, Blessed be He, said to Moses: Provide them with an answer as to wh
y the Torah should be given to the people.
聖者對摩西說，祂是應當被稱頌的：給他們一個答案，關於為什麼律法應該被給予人民。

Moses said before Him: Master of the Universe, the Torah that You are giving me,
what is written in it?
摩西在祂面前說：宇宙的主宰，你給我的律法，裡面寫著什麼？
God said to him: “I am the Lord your God Who brought you out of Egypt from the
house of bondage” (Exodus 20:2).
神對他說：「我是耶和華你的神，曾將你從埃及地為奴之家領出來」（出埃及記20:2）。
Moses said to the angels: Did you descend to Egypt? Were you enslaved to Pharaoh
? Why should the Torah be yours?
摩西對天使們說：你們下到埃及了嗎？你們被法老奴役了嗎？為什麼律法應該是你們的？
Again Moses asked: What else is written in it? God said to him: “You shall have
no other gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3).
摩西又問：裡面還寫著什麼？神對他說：「除了我以外，你不可有別的神」（出埃及記20:3
）。
Moses said to the angels: Do you dwell among the nations who worship
摩西對天使們說：你們住在敬拜的民族中間嗎
…… Again Moses asked: What else is written in it?
……摩西又問：裡面還寫著什麼？
God said to him: “You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shal
l not steal” (Exodus 20:13)
神對他說：「不可殺人，不可姦淫，不可偷盜」（出埃及記20:13）
Moses asked the angels: Is there jealousy among you, or is there an evil inclina
tion within you that would render these commandments relevant?
摩西問天使們：你們中間有嫉妒嗎，或者你們裡面有邪惡的傾向會使這些誡命與你們相關嗎
？
Immediately they agreed with the Holy One, Blessed be He, that He made the right
decision to give the Torah to the people, and as it is stated: “God our Lord,
how glorious is Your name in all the earth” (Psalms 8:10), while “that Your ma
jesty is placed above the heavens” is not written because the angels agreed wit
h God that it is appropriate to give the Torah to the people on earth.
他們立即同意聖者，祂是應當被稱頌的，祂做出了正確的決定將律法給予人民，正如所說：
「耶和華我們的主啊，你的名在全地何其美」（詩篇8:10），而「你的威嚴超乎諸天」沒有
被寫出來，因為天使們同意神將律法給予地上的人民是合適的。
結論：
猶太教觀點認為律法是透過天使賜給摩西的。
保羅說
「加 3:19(新譯):
律法是藉著天使經中保的手設立的；」
符合猶太教觀點。
