Jimmy Kimmel has spent more than 20 years saying goodnight to viewers on ABC ...
and he may soon be doing it for the last time, TMZ has confirmed.

"Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is reportedly set to end after next season, with Page Six
first reporting Jimmy's contract with ABC is NOT expected to be renewed once his
current deal runs out in May 2027.
Jimmy Kimmel Live很有可能在明年完結，因為另一八卦新聞品牌Page Six曾經率先報
導：Jimmy目前與迪士尼旗下電視台ABC的合約，到了明年5月合約到期後，就不會再
續約了。

One source tells TMZ ... there is talk among the staff that Jimmy has been work-
ing on pitching other shows and podcasts around town.
有人向TMZ爆料：Kimmel最近已經在籌備其他的節目，甚至有可能轉向線上播客。
ABC is pushing back, calling the report speculation ... but Jimmy has been
working on year-to-year deals, and he's openly talked in recent months about
eventually hanging it up.
ABC不但否認上述的報導，並稱這些都只是猜測。然而Kimmel近年的合約都是一年一簽，
而且他也的確在近期的訪問中，坦承他遲早「電視封麥」的可能。
If this really is the beginning of the end, it'll cap a 24-year run that started
way back in 2003 ... and it's been a pretty wild final stretch.
如果Kimmel的節目真的在明年收尾，這將讓節目停在24季—而這最後一幕，也實在夠
瘋狂了！
As TMZ previously reported ... ABC suspended Jimmy last September over comments
he made about Charlie Kirk's death... only to bring him back six days later
following what Disney called "thoughtful conversations" with the host.
也補充為何這則新聞，會引起美國這麼大的關注：其實早在去年9月，ABC就曾經因為
針對已過世名嘴Charlie Kirk發表爭議言論而對Kimmel處以「禁賽令」。不過在6天後，
母公司迪士尼又宣稱「在經過理性且深入的溝通」之後，把他的節目如閃電般帶回來。
Jimmy's comeback was huge, pulling in 6.26 million viewers -- the show's biggest
regularly scheduled audience in more than a decade.
Kimmel那次復出的能量相當驚人，因為那一集的收視高達6百萬人，這也是JKL近十年
常規集數中，收視最高的一集。
Jimmy hasn't exactly backed away from his longtime feud with President Trump,
who celebrated when ABC initially yanked him off the air.
Kimmel從來不掩飾對川普總統上任以來對厭惡與嘲笑，後者也因此在ABC對前者施以
停播處分後，公然地大肆慶祝。
Barring another late-night plot twist ... Jimmy may finally be nearing his last
monologue.
只不過，除非我們能看到喜劇的轉折點，不然Jimmy距離他在ABC最後一次單人脫口秀，
可以說是越來越近了！

心得：之前我做SNL近況的專題時，已經看出NBC對於公部門開玩笑的尺度有所保留（比如
說公然嘲笑移民署基層的糗態，可能會在直播版被取消），看來類似的效應似乎也蔓延到
ABC&迪士尼系統了
當然，也不排除是Kimmel對這樣的戰鬥已經倦怠，為了不為難迪士尼，選擇轉換跑道的
可能性。
