First on LateNighter: After five years, that’s a wrap for Martin Herlihy on
Saturday Night Live.
專門報導美國夜間綜藝的娛樂新聞品牌Late Nighter，今天率先揭露了一則消息：
為週六夜現場效力達5年的編劇暨演員Martin Herlihy ，確定結束了他在節目的生涯。
Show insiders tell us the writer/performer and Please Don’t Destroy member is
not returning for Season 52.
內部人士指出：這位身兼喜劇天團Please Don’t Destroy（PDD的諧星），將不會回歸
節目第52季的拍攝。
Herlihy’s departure comes one year after Please Don’t Destroy stopped
appearing as a trio on SNL. John Higgins left the show following Season 50,
while Ben Marshall was promoted from writer to featured player for Season 51.
Herlihy remained as a writer and continued to turn up on screen.
Herlihy的離去，距離PDD不再以3人完全體現身也才一年—John Higgins在節目慶祝50
季後，就離開了SNL。至於紅頭髮的Ben Marshall 則是在第51季升格為「隨行或跟班」
演員。Herlihy的地位則介於兩者間：繼續擔任編劇，但也同時爭取電視上的曝光。
During Season 51, Herlihy starred in a series of pretaped shorts billed under
his own name, establishing a new solo lane after four seasons of Please Don’t
Destroy films.
在累積4年的PDD資歷後，Herlihy在第51以自導自演的模式，拍攝了不少由他掛名負責的
短片。
All told, Herlihy appeared in 42 sketches over his five seasons at SNL:
34 Please Don’t Destroy shorts, three “A Film by Martin Herlihy” pieces, and
five additional sketches.
Herlihy在這5年的SNL生涯，總共出現了42次：34次是PDD短片、3次是自己導演的
微電影，另外還有5次攝影棚現場演出。
Herlihy, Marshall, and Higgins joined SNLas writers in 2021, with their Please D
on’t Destroy videos quickly becoming a regular part of the show. The trio’s fa
st-paced, increasingly elaborate shorts frequently featured that week’s host or
musical guest alongside the three writers.
Herlihy, Marshall與Higgins這三人，在2021年以PDD成員暨編劇的身分加入了SNL，
而他們的短片也隨即成為節目最受歡迎的單元。這對三人組步調明快卻又能兼顧精心
製作的特質，也讓當周的客座主持與演唱歌星越來越愛跟他們合作。
Marshall’s status going into Season 52 has not yet been officially announced.
Assuming he returns, he’ll be the lone member of the comedy troupe still
working at SNL.
PDD唯一錄取為正式演員的Marshall，他第52季在劇組的狀態尚未被正式公佈。
假如他能回歸，他也將是這對喜劇三人組唯一還為SNL服務的人。
Please Don’t Destroy remains active as a trio, with Herlihy, Marshall, and
Higgins continuing to perform live together even as they pursue solo projects.
Just last night, the three played a pair of shows in Brooklyn.
PDD的3位演員，儘管已經各有事業規劃，但他們仍會定期相聚一起表演。事實上，
在這則外電發表的前一個晚上，這3人才在紐約的布魯克林區表演了專場。
SNL’s 52nd season kicks off September 26. Earlier this summer, seven-year cas
t member Chloe Fineman announced she won’t be returning this fall. Any other ca
st departures have yet to be revealed; the show held in-studio screen tests for
potential new featured players two weeks ago.
SNL的第52季，將在9月的第4個星期六（美國時間9/26）正式回歸。其實早在暑假，
7年資歷的女演員Chloe Fineman就已經透過發文，宣布不會回歸劇組。目前主流媒體
尚未得知其他演員離去的消息，但是已經知道NBC在2週前，曾經針對任何想報名的新演員
做棚內測試。
If recent years are any guide, SNL should soon officially unveil its Season 52
cast, with the season’s first hosts announced shortly thereafter.
如果可以參考SNL近年的歷史，那麼SNL應該在幾天後，就會正式公布第52季的內部
演員，而本季第一位客座主持人，宣布的日子也不遠了！

心得：結果SNL在複選「52梯新人」這一階段，反而有點爆冷門，沒有複製Ben
Marshall模式..當然去年PDD3人中只錄取Ben，其實對於馬汀就是警訊，但他上一季
明明也很努力啊，自己主持的預錄短片「社會實驗室」口碑也相當好..也只能祝福他囉！

1.很諷刺的是，這新聞在出爐的第一時間，好萊塢三大電子報的Variety，其IG正巧在刊登
SNL學長Chris Rock的專訪，因為他擔任導演（但也有串場擔任重要配角）的新片，有機會
角逐奧斯卡

2.不過SNL官網這時也有好消息，沖淡了Marty離去的感傷，因為本季的前四集客座
主持—正式出爐了！

這名單其實不算意外，因為有2個都算主持老手，加上2位新手也早就被業界看好。
既然SNL已經找好來賓，看來正式的新賽季完整演員名單也喬好了，我到時再盡快報導囉！
