[問題] Memory internal/external retention

[gecer (gecer)]

When I am studying semiconductor memory testing, I ususaly see nouns

"internal data retention" , "exernal data retention" , I consider internal data

retention is memory holding data, but can not comprehand what external data

retention is, as that in https://www.google.com/patents/US9123436.

hope someone could explain it.thanks.
