[考題] 有關分詞構句

1. My grandfather sat in an armchair , __ a pipe.
(A)smoke(B)smoked
(C)and smoking(D)smoking
請問，這前後句的主詞是同樣的(S1=S2),連接詞and不是省略與否皆可嗎？
 為何答案是D而C不行?

2.___ on a chair , the man was waiting for me.
(A)seated(B)seating(C)sat(D)sits
答案A,請問為何不是B?
the man 不是應該是主動嗎？
再請問seat和上一題的sit有使用上的差異嗎？

3.Cathy opened the door carefully, __not to wake the baby.
同第一題，答案(C)and tired但我覺得(A)and trying亦可，想問問版友看法

→ blue5566: sit down = be seated
推 skyflyer03: be seated = have a seat = sit down
