如果用had left，後面應該要用had had to wait....，表整件事情都是過去已發生的事

: 疑問：為何不能選 'would be'? 題幹裡並無說明說話者是在講現在還過去呀~
這句是在說，"但就是因為sudden rainstorm，不然這趟旅行可能早就是pleasant one了"
前面是條件句，而would have been表示可能發生，但實際上並沒有發生的假設情況
如果用would be的話有點怪怪的，前後兜不上來
: 3.It's snowy, and we ＿ stay home for some videos. What do you think?
: Ans: may as well
: 覺得答案OK 但好奇為何不能選'may well'
: 我不能說「我們大可以待在家看影集」嗎
用may well文法上不順，也並非"我們大可以待在家看影集"的意思
而是"在家呆得很好"，通常我們會說play well, do well, speak well之類
感覺不太說stey well
: 4.有一題寫說Each of the story books are very interesting.
: 不是該用is嗎?!印象中Each不管當代詞還是形容詞 後面都是單數V呀

我也覺得是is...

這裡如果用would be，第二句單純只表示"我們去墾丁的旅途可能會非常愉快"
那麼跟第一句連起來，會變成"因為突來的風雨，我們去墾丁的旅途可能會非常愉快"
邏輯上是錯的，would be並沒有與事實相反的語氣，而would have been有

"would be" looks to the future, not the past. This sentence is about
something that already happened, which we wish could have been different.
This is a conditional (if) situation, only "would have been" make sense.
