也不認為有'for more than 20 years'就得要用過去完成式
I lived in Taiwan for more than 20 years.
這句話絕對有持續性的意味，也有for more than 20 years
但難道我不能單純地表達我曾在台灣住超過20年嗎？
現在2015我住在美國，但是1980～2000年這段期間我住在台灣，
為何不能用過去簡單式？這本來就可以用過去簡單式。為何一定得用過去完成式？
回到原句
The theater ________ in the city center for more than 20 years before it
was destroyed in the war.
before本來就已經有明確表達出先後順序，又從句意可判斷出兩句都發生在過去式，
針對發生在過去的事實本來就可以直接用過去簡單式來表達，
for more than 20 years應該不太會影響時態，
因為for+一段時間，本來就可以用在很多時態中。
所以e大跟s大的理由無法說服我。
