[文法] 哈利波特小說的一句話

[Segundus (賽岡督)]

Harry lay in his dark cupboard much later, wishing he had a watch.

出自第一集，這句應該是說他在廚櫃裡希望能有支錶好知道時間過了多久。

我的疑問是為什麼後面子句不是與過去事實相反用過去完成式？

→ darKyle: 以文法來說是省略be動詞 把後面的子句變成分詞片語
→ darKyle: 既然變成了片語 就不必也不能用and連接前後 所以改用逗號
→ darKyle: 簡單來說就是從 "子句 and 子句" 變成 "子句, 分詞片語"
→ darKyle: 這算是寫作時常用的手法 可以讓句型有所變化
→ darKyle: 修正一下 ... and was wishing ... => ..., wishing ...
→ Segundus: 樓上講的我知道，我的意思是為啥不是had had
推 hsheng: 個人理解是:He wished he had a watch. 他當時希望他當下
→ hsheng: 有手錶。而He wished he had had a watch. 他當時希望他之
→ hsheng: 前有手錶。 所以是"當下"跟"那個時候以前"的不同。 有錯煩
