[請益] not as...as 和 not more...than 差別

題目：

    Taipei is not ＿＿＿＿＿ Tokyo.

選項：

    (A) so expensive as         (B) as expensive as

    (C) more expensive than     (D) so expensive than

問題：

   查過文法書 not as...as = not so...as

   但上面兩者和 not more...than 都是〝不如〞的意思

   請問該如何區分呢？

感謝回應，但舉以下兩例來說

Wood is not as strong as steel.
(木頭沒有鋼鐵哪那樣硬)

He is not more clever than his brother.
(他沒有他哥哥那樣聰明)

兩者都是中間加形容詞原形，後加名詞。

而題目本身似乎也是偏向後面接名詞，中間加形容詞的用法，

請問這種情況從何解釋？

上面兩句話接補上中文翻譯，但..意思感覺還是差不多的。(是理解上的問題嗎? =.=)

→ tacada: 「否定的意味」例子: Her current boyfriend is not more
→ tacada:  prudent than her ex.，其實光看這句話是無法判斷到底前
→ tacada: 男友是不是個謹慎的人，但若透過前後文意或了解背景後，
→ tacada: 得知此女就是因為前男友是個不大謹慎的人才分的手，如此
→ tacada: 便可了解到雖然此句也是「現任 ≦ 前任」的概念，不過此
→ tacada: 時的前任部份已含有「否定意味」→「(她的前任這麼的不謹
→ tacada: 慎)她的現任也沒比前任謹慎」→『她的現任跟前任同樣都不
→ tacada: 謹慎』，但若得知的是前男友是個謹慎的人，她們是因為別
→ tacada: 的原因分的手，那麼對此句的B部份來說就是「肯定的意味」
→ tacada: ，意思也就變成 「她的現任沒有比前任還謹慎」。
