[文法] 請問這裡的saying為何加ing？

大家好，請問一下

以下這段文字

In Beijing, the Cabinet’s Taiwan Affairs Office issued a statement noting
Tsai’s reference to the 1992 meeting, but saying she had taken an “

想問的是，這裡的saying原來是什麼形式？

                                            這裡我理解為是"and noted"改來的
Tsai’s reference to the 1992 meeting, but saying she had
                                           ^^^^^^
                           這裡就不懂了，如果是對等子句改的，連接詞but卻保留了？

請教正確理解方式，謝謝！

推 eukoala: N + 分詞1 but 分詞2，兩個分詞片語都修飾statement
→ eukoala: 兩個分詞中間，以對等連接詞but連接
→ kaifrankwind: 同1F
喔喔! 所以應該是這樣囉：

                                                                    ^^^^^^^^^^
Tsai’s reference to the 1992 meeting, but that said she had taken an
                                           ^^^^^^^^^

→ eukoala: 沒有錯，不過用分詞比較簡潔，盡量習慣分詞的形式
→ eukoala: 每次都該寫成關代，閱讀速度會比較慢
→ eukoala:       改
→ kaifrankwind: 用關代的話 第二個that也是不需要的
我剛剛以為是...that A but that B （也就是that A和that B對等）

K大說明後，原來是 that A but B (也就是A和B對等)
