[單字] comprehend和understand差別

在字典上看到comprehend 義思是理解
字典還附註=understand
可是我英文作文寫

We have a very articulate teacher who takes time to make sure we *comprehend*
what she says.

老師給我撇掉改成understand

還有這句

Money can buy beautiful furniture but can't buy love and *comprehension* of  a
 home .

一樣被撇掉改成understanding

上網找也找不到解釋

麻煩各位大大了
