[單字] IV是縮寫嗎

最近在看一篇文章 是美國職棒選手輸掉世界大賽g7後的感想

其中有兩個地方用了IV 如下

「My body shut down after we lost Game 7 of the World Series.
  Literally.

  It was a physical thing. I just kind of got sick. I actually had to wake up
  that next morning after we lost and head back over to the field to have a
  fluids IV put in.」

上網用"abbreviation of iv"估狗也沒結果

所以想上來問一下
