標題[請益] 句構問題(形容詞子句vs名詞子句)

麻煩各位高手，
最近再用扇貝練習英文，有一些沒辦法理解的句構
1.
Stories about star players transferring from one team to another usually
dominate the headlines during European Soccer's offseason.
應該player的形容詞子句簡化變成transferring
2.可是如果是我自己想句子，我會寫成
Sotries about (that star players transfer from one team to another) dominate
the headlines...
()的名詞子句簡化後為
Stories about star players' transferring
也就是跟第一句差一個所有格
我又覺得兩句好像都對
答案應該是1，有人可以糾正我2錯在哪裡嗎?
