出現了"more forgiving" steels

我不確定是否在這邊詢問
但有人知道這是甚麼意思嗎??

However, when it comes to more high performance metallic materials (high
strength steels, titanium alloys, high strength aluminum- and magnesium
alloys) or even technical ceramics, the mechanical surface treatments like
shot peening need to be understood in more detail, since these classes of
materials with their wide variety of microstructures are more sensitive than
the "more forgiving" steels from earlier years.
