大家好，想請問一下

我在英語學習論壇提了一個問題，有網友回應，但我不是很理解。

標題：and (...) for EU supporters
內容：

‘Tactical voting’ is quickly becoming a buzzword for the UK’s June 8
elections, with groups calling for strategic alliances and for EU supporters
to vote for the least-worst option available.

I think the original sentence is

...with groups calling for strategic alliances and (with groups calling) for
EU supporters to vote for the least-worst option available.

Is my understanding correct?

Yes, except I'd say that you quoted the original sentence and offer a variant
to make sure you understood the original.

我試著就我的理解來翻譯：

「沒錯，只是我會說你引用了原句，並且提出一個類似的句型來確認你明白了。」

不太懂對方想表達什麼意思？照理說這裡用「Yes, and...」應該文意比較順才對吧？

不太能理解英語人士的思維邏輯@@a

原來關鍵在"and"，查了辭典，這裡的and應該是as a result的意思。

用中文的脈絡來理解，應該是：

「沒錯，只是我會說『你引用了原句，但其實是』提出一個類似的句型來確認你明白
了。」

感謝D大！您的意思是說，那位網友認為我是先"quoted the original sentence"
（也就是我前面所貼出的原文），接著則是"offer a variant"
（也就是後面從I think the original sentence is...開始的部分）

這樣看來，我想應該是the original sentence這個詞讓彼此認知有差異，
其實用中文來說的話，我要表達的是「那原本句子（的意思）是...」，
可能我用英文表達時，用詞不夠精準，以致於有點雞同鴨講...。
