[文法] 兩個逗號之間的形容詞子句

hi,各位好。
最近在閱讀大量的英文資料，常常看到句子敘述到一半，常常會出現兩個逗點，且逗點之間是補充這個句子的內容

有些形容詞子句可以很清楚地知道它在補充什麼，比如以下這句:
Michael Jordan, who is famous, was regarded as the best player in his age.
但是這個句子:
Applicable documents include information that is, by extension, part of this
specification. None in this revision.
相較之下就不太清楚by extension是比較抽象


想請問各位在處理這種情況時，都是怎麼了解句子的涵義呢?
