關於suit的用法與翻譯 A suits B =?= B suits A

以下是我的想法

例如，以中文來說 "這個工作適合我" 或是 "我適合這個工作" 都表達一樣的意思

但是英文好像只看到 "This job suits me" 並不會說 "I suit this job"


問題來了 如果兩個都是sth呢？

例如"這個新政策不適合當代" = "當代不適合這個新政策"

但是我們好像會說 "The new policy doesn't suit the modern age"

並不會說 "The modern age doesn't suit the new policy"


不過...剛剛比較幾個例句：

1.This dress suits Carol = This dress is suitable for Carol

2.He was just not suitable for the job

那照1.的邏輯的話，2.不就是可以寫成 He just doesn't suit the job

這樣變成就有sb suits sth 的例句了


總之，我自己真要解釋的話 A適合B = A suits B , B適合A = B suits A

但是前後有略微不同，A適合B代表著B有種上位的感覺，A要"主動"來適合B??

以Free dictionary中有一句"This candidate does not suit our qualifications."

這個候選人不滿足(適合)我們的條件，是"我們的條件"為上位去挑這個候選人

如果寫成"Our qualifications don't suit this candidate"也是對的

只是意思略不同，變成"我們提出的條件"滿足不了這個候選人


有明確的解釋嗎？謝謝!

這個例子是我舉的 主要是舉出A,B都是sth時 中文可說A適合B或是B適合A
那英文到底是"誰suit誰" 都可以但是不同文意?

→ naushtogo: 1.的等號並不成立，所以2.並不成立。
→ naushtogo: suits Carol是指顏色或樣式很適合Carol，很好看。
→ naushtogo: This dress is suitable for Carol. 是指Carol等下要去
→ naushtogo: 參加婚禮/去教堂/出席法庭之類的，你可以說 This dress
→ naushtogo: is suitable for Carol.
總之 我主要想知道 I suit this job 是錯的還是只是不同文意??

我昨天開找一些網站時防毒軟體說已經檢測到危害 原來是這一個 sor 已刪

h大那兩個網站也看完了

感覺第一篇的語意就是表達我猜的那樣 I suit the job跟 The job suits me 有些差異
(誰配合誰的上下位差異)

而第二篇看下來就是文法都對拉 只是沒人那樣用@@
