[請益] being的用法

您好，我在看spec的時候看到下面這句原文:
The Receive Byte is similar to a Send Byte, the only difference being the
direction of data transfer

請問being可以這樣用嗎?可以用is代替這邊的being嗎?會導致原意不一樣?
