[文法] the & other用法

[accro (accro)]

請問各位這三句:

1.My niece, Kathy, ate one cookie after [another] until she finished the
whole box. That's why she had a bad stomachache.

這句的[]可以用the other嗎? 書上寫說這兩個是一樣的(one after another/the other)
可是答案就沒給了，而網路上查，好像也比較偏好是another，the other好像有一次兩個
一起吃的意思(好像也可以?)

2.My cousin and her husband moved to [another] city because they don't like [X]
cold weather

第一個[]可用other citys嗎? 因為原先的城市太冷所以移動到其他多個城市，另外
weather可以指定嗎? 因為天氣沒有絕對，所以不能用the，對嗎?

3.The teacher gave us some homework to hand in next Tuesday.

想請問各位這句前面動詞用過去式，可是後面的next不是有未來的意思嗎? 這句是否有誤
呢?
