rounds of 9mm ammunition, 295 rounds of AR-15 ammunition, and 425 rounds of

想請教
1.一般新聞標題不都用現在式代替過去式嗎？為何這則新聞的標題卻用過去式
的had呢？

2.第一段第三行and had over 1,600 rounds of ammunition...這個and had是過去式，
還是過去完成式（和前面的had built共用一個had）？不過第二段第一行確實是過去式的
had，因此第一段的and had似乎是過去式的可能較大？

1. I doubt the student still has the weapon.
2. Simple past. Not the same as the additional example cited.

但我不懂第二題，為何前面用過去完成式，後面用過去式？為何不統一呢？

但我對它末段的說明有疑惑：

在上例中，"moving at 30 miles an hour" 和 "stopped with mechanical problems"
分別為現在分詞 (moving) 與過去分詞 (stopped) 片語。

其實，不管是同位語還是分詞片語，它們都是關係子句，即形容詞子句的減化。所以上例
可以改寫或還原為 "A train which was moving at 30 miles an hour hit another
train which had stopped with mechanical problems...."。

stopped with mechanical problems如果原本是完成式的話，
應該減化成having stopped with mechanical problems....才對？
原句似乎比較像是which was stopped/had been stopped with mechanical problems
....的減化？

第四點我寄信給站長，以下是他的回應：

another train stopped with mechanical problems 就是 another train which was
stopped with mechanical problems 的減化，因為時間副詞 today 的關係，stopped 和
 hit 的動作並無明顯的先後關係，應視為一連串動作的一項。下句就有明顯的先後關係
：John told me yesterday that he had killed his wife.，約翰在告訴我之前已經殺
了他太太。
