[求譯] 這句的google翻譯覺得怪怪的

這句應該是省略了which are，原文是:
more registers which are being used to.......
我解讀這句的中文意思是: 正在被使用的registers保存一個變數

但看了上下文，又覺得google翻譯比較符合...所以才想上來請問一下，各位怎麼解讀這句

BTW，請問後面的than is necessary是什麼意思?google翻譯也沒有翻出它
