[請益] 歌詞中when they are done 的意思？

各位好，請教一下這首歌的歌詞

第一節第四行，But when they are done是什麼意思呢？

這句歌詞對應影片第15秒，可看見左上背景中，有一個人拿個一根大菸要給另一個人，
但是對方拒絕了。

但我不太確定這個they are done是什麼意思，「他們被完成了（？）」
（下一句：然後你開始看見光亮）(？)

但我看那邊寫
If something is done, or you are done with it, it is finished, or you have
finished doing, using it, etc.

感覺和歌詞句意不合吧？我覺得這邊歌詞表達的是
「這些看起來有趣（但不好）的東西，被拒絕了之類的」
