各位好,請教一下 在朗文辭典看這樣的例句:https://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/back She was the one who had fired him from his first job back in South Africa. She was the one who fired him from his first job back in South Africa (She told me that) She was the one who had fired him from his first job back in South Africa. ---------------- 更新 a. She was the one who had fired him from his first job back in South Africa. b. She was the one who fired him from his first job back in South Africa. 1. Are both (a) and (b) grammatically correct? 2. Is my imagining a context for (a) acceptable? 網友Piscean: 1. Both are possible. 2. It's OK, but the original (a) is fine as it is. She was (past time) the one who had fired him (earlier past time) from his first job. 網友Raymott: There's plenty of information in the sentence that seems to make the past perfect unnecessary. The past perfect is used to indicate the relative timing of events, not all of which occur in the same sentence. The sentence alone doesn't need it. In a wider context, it might.
