最近看到1225經濟學人一篇文章中 第一句話

Their words were guarded, their tone sober.

這句話直覺就是缺少連接詞 and

而且後面那個sober 不知道該當動詞用還是形容詞

當形容詞也是少一個were

想問一下,有這種使用文法嗎?

想說如果是以逗號代替and的話,此篇文章中還是好多地方有放連接詞and



第二個問題是

This nervous, inward turn explains why, after a year of eye-for-eye fight

with America, China is determined to bring the trade war to an end.

這一句中, 為什麼nervious後面要放一個逗號?

整個主詞應該就是 This nervious inward turn

放個逗號的用法,文法上是哪一條
