[文法] although 和 but的問題

大家好

有關although 和 but

一般文法書都會說二者不能並存

但我看Charles Harrington Elster的Verbal Advantage裡頭

Level 6的 Word 6中有一句話是

As I noted in the first half of the program, if you want to learn more about

the world and learn more words, then reading is the best way to edify yourself.

But even entertainment can be edifying, although some forms of

entertainment,such as watching reruns of "Wheel of Fortune,"

probably won't edify you at all.

這裡but even和although,已經並存＠＠

請問這樣的寫法是否有其他的文法規則，而我沒有想到？

→ dunchee: 不能並存是指這兩個連接詞連接的是相同的兩個子句。你的
→ dunchee: 句子不是這情況：第一個but是連接前一句和but引導的子句(
→ dunchee: 沒有連接although引導的子句）。although連接的兩個子句
→ dunchee: 你自己補完
→ dunchee: 不能共用的一般是這形式:

→ ansi54: 了解了。一般情況主句和子句會有個關聯指涉對象。
