標題[單字] of paramount 的of用法

如題
為什麼是
Something is of paramount importance.
而不是就
Something is paramount importance.
還是其實都可以
我看到的類似的還有
This novel is of inordinate length.
想知道為什麼要加of 是固定用法嗎？還是其實也可不加？
那還有其他類似的用法可以參考嗎？
