Hamels (oblique) out for at least eight weeks

Rangers placed LHP Cole Hamels on the 10-day disabled list with a strained
right oblique.
Hamels was scratched from his scheduled start Tuesday night against the
Astros after experiencing tightness in his right side and an MRI taken
Wednesday confirmed that he's dealing with an oblique strain. He's expected
to miss at least eight weeks. Hamels, 33, had strung together seven straight
200-plus-innings seasons between 2010-2016, but that streak will come to and
end this year.

Indians placed RHP Corey Kluber on the 10-day disabled list with lower back
discomfort.
Kluber made an early departure Tuesday night against the Tigers after
experiencing renewed back tightness and he'll miss at least one turn in the
Cleveland rotation. The ace right-hander allowed five earned runs in three
innings Tuesday before getting pulled and owns an ugly 5.06 ERA through six
starts this season.
