IMSA開季GT Prototype(GTP)組女武神 Aston Martin Valkyrie 首次參加DAYTONA賽事，
而 Porsche 963 離開WEC跟利曼24後，就只剩這邊有在出車比賽
另外還有 美國本田Acura, BMW 跟 Cadillac LMDh賽車上場

原本離開WEC僅在IMSA出賽的 Lamborghini SC63 於去年中車廠宣布進行資源重整，
所以今年開始"暫停"GTP組出賽計劃 (藍寶應該是沒戲了....)

原本由 韓世龍 (J. Aitken) 駕駛的 Cadillac Whelen #31 以 1:33.939 拿下竿位

但由於賽後車檢發現車後部防滑塊磨損過度，所以被罰取消成績從分組末尾起跑
改由Palou組 Meyer Shank Racing - Acura #93 又排第二

Herta組 Cadillac Wayne Taylor #40 遞補第二, Porsche 分居三五七,
女武神 #23 慢1.443秒排第10

GTD Pro組由Sims組 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsport #3
以 1:45.106 拿下竿位

原本排第二的 Paul Miller Racing - BMW #1 由於賽後車檢底盤外傾角不符合規定
所以被罰取消成績從分組末尾起跑
