There was a prince in Avignon.
He had no kingdom, no castle, no keep.
The place (there) was at the bottom of Provence.
There was a prince.
有位來自亞維儂的王子，
沒王國、沒城堡、沒堡壘。
(亞維儂)在普羅旺斯的最下方，
有位王子。
P.S. donjon 翻成 keep，是借用 wiki 在 keep 的定義如下。
A keep (from the Middle English kype) is a type of fortified tower built
within castles during the Middle Ages by European nobility.
### 第二段 ###
Et l'enfant que j'étais
Cueillait pour lui bien des roses
En ce temps le bonheur était peu de choses
When I was a child,
I had been gathering him some roses.
At that time the happiness was simple.
當我還小的時候，
曾經摘過一些玫瑰給他，
對那時候(來說)幸福真是簡單。
### 第三段 ###
Il était un prince en Avignon
Sans royaume, sans château ni donjon
Mais ces mots nous chantaient les campagnes
Des grands rois d'Espagne
There was a prince in Avignon.
He had no kingdom, no castle, no keep.
But the words we sang (were about)
the campaigns of the great kings of Spain.
有位來自亞維儂的王子，
沒王國、沒城堡、沒堡壘。
但我們傳唱的是，
西班牙偉大國王的戰役。
### 第四段 ###
Quand le soir descendait
On devenait spectateurs
Et la ville avec lui n'était plus qu'un coeur
When the evening had been descending,
it became an audience.
And the town was only a heart (left) with him.
當黑夜逐漸來臨，
它(搖身一變)成了觀眾。
(整個)城鎮只替他留下一顆心(陪著他)。
### 第五段 ###
Il nous emportait dans son empire
Nous attendrissait avec un sourire
Combien je rêvais, combien je l'aimais
Et puis vers ma ville je m'en retournais
He brought us into his empire,
we were touched with a smile.
How much I dreamed/dreamt, how much I loved him,
and I would return to my town.
他將我們帶進他的王國，
我們(深受)感動而帶著笑容。
我再怎麼做夢，我再怎麼愛他，
(總有一天)我(將會)回到故鄉去。
