談 Reddit 上很多人都在抱怨爐邊聚會大小事，

主要是覺得暴雪思考不夠周延，

許多人千里迢迢來到一個不理想的聚會，

有人父母住處被不知名網友申請成為聚會場所，

每天都有關於爐邊聚會奇特的 Reddit 貼文。


後面有再談到當今遊戲開發商的一些情境，挺有趣。

Hey guys hows it going, Kripparian here.
Today i want to give you guys the rundown,
on the new warlock hero promotion, Nemsy.

So nemsy this cute little bugger,
has been the center point one of the most
controversial things ive ever seen in hearthstone.

Typically, the hero skins and all that,
they've been available online mostly cost like 10 bucks,
or requires you to play other blizzard games to some degree,
and thats been alright,
thats been pretty decent, pretty fun,
and most people have done those without too much complaining,
except for the first rollout where they all cost ten bucks but whatever.

今天我想概略談一下新的術士英雄頭像活動，奈姆希。

奈姆希這可愛的小傢伙，

是我看過爐石至今最具爭議性的事件之一。


通常英雄頭像需要線上花個十鎂購買，

或需要你玩別的暴雪遊戲到一定程度，

這些其實都還好，嘗試別的暴雪遊戲甚至挺有趣，

大部分的人都沒太多怨言，

除了第一波推出全部都要十鎂外。



With nemsy, if you've been under a rock,
you basically get nemsy by attending
one of the newly approved system's fireside gathering,
which means you go to a physical place,
hopefully local place like a restaurant,
thats running more or less of like a hearthstone tournament,
but not exactly a tournament.

Its like a play with friends hearthstone type of event,
if u go to one of these that is approved,
my understanding was that u get Nemsy,
but ive seen most of the feedback,
that u only have a chance to get nemsy in some cases,
this is like ten percent.
That might just be an issue,
but its a very small issue right now.

Ive had some extra time on my hands,
to read through reddit post in the last few days,
and its been nothing short of astonishing,
how much this promotion has fucked up.

Now obviously things like fake fireside gatherings happen a lot,
some cases not enough people show up,
and this is a problem because fireside gatherings are region-locked,
so u cant go to different region to get Nemsy,
u have to get it in ur own region.

Some regions have very few or no fireside gatherings,
some ppl have to like go hundreds of miles to get to one of these,
and well if it ends up being a fake one,
that might be a negative experience, wouldn't u think?


如果你不知道奈姆希是甚麼，

基本上你要參加系統認定的爐邊聚會來獲得這個英雄頭像。

意思是你要去到一個實體地點，

運氣好的話一個就近像是餐廳舉辦的類似跟朋友的爐石聚賽。


如果你去到一個被認可的這樣的聚會，

我的認知是你就能直接得到奈姆希，

然而我聽到其他人是說大概只有10%機率可以獲得。

不能直接獲得這件事情，

可能會是一個問題，但還只是小事。


我這兩天空閒時候讀了Reddit，

意外發現這活動還真是嚴重搞砸了。

假的爐邊聚會很常發生，

有時後不夠多人出現，這是因為爐邊聚會有地緣性，

你不能到別的地方獲得奈姆希，

必須得從自己地區取得，

有些地方很少或幾乎沒有爐邊聚會，

有些人千里迢迢卻來到一個假的爐邊聚會，

那真的會是一個很糟的經歷。



Theres a lot of other issues,
and if u just screen through reddit everyday,
u're bound to find some new creative way that this has gone downhill.

I've actually decided to make this video,
based on the newest and most creative way ive found,
with this post here,
where someone had random hearthstone players uninvited,
show up at his house,
thinking that there was a fireside gathering there when there was not.


還有很多其他問題，

如果你稍為閱覽一下 Reddit 上的文章，

你會找到各種新奇的爐邊聚會悲劇，

事實上這部影片就是根據近期找到最奇特的po文，

有個人家裡被許多隨機未受邀的爐石玩家拜訪，

以為那邊有爐石聚會但其實沒有。


(po文內容，有個渾蛋在我父母住址安排了爐邊聚會。

我父母住得離公園很近，有網友安排在公園見面，

系統就直接認定我父母地址為據點。

當天前後大約來了十人，

也許有更多但因為我們貼了這地方沒有要舉辦聚會的告示，

我們也不知道是誰po了這訊息。

真的很鳥，有人為了這活動長途奔波。

我父母態度很好，但確實影響到了他們生活。

我認為爐邊聚會會是很棒的樂趣，但需要鑑定機制！

兩件事至關重要，

鑑定地點是否能夠容納得下玩家，

還有主辦地點人的聯絡方式。)



Alright so another thing to keep in mind just in generally,
in the video gaming industry and possibly many others,
you're selling entertainment,
ur selling a positive experience,
so to deliver like a 50/50 would be a disaster.

You do not want as a company as a game developer,
to spend time and money creating content that half the people will hate.
if half the people like it,
half the people hate it,
you've done a bad job,
because the negative experiences,
are going to be much more memorable than the positive ones,


另一件要記得的是在電玩和許多其他產業，

你在銷售娛樂，賣的是美好的經歷，

做一件一半人滿意一半人不滿意的事就是場災難。

做為一個遊戲公司或開發者需要花時間和金錢，

如果一半的人喜歡一半的人討厭你製作的遊戲內容，

基本上就是失敗，

因為負面體驗總是會掩蓋掉那些正面的感受。



I mean who does this promotion target?
Existing hearthsone players.
What if a quarter of them stopped playing because of it.

See how that might be a problem,
if u spend time and money to actually make this happen,
it would seem pretty dumb right?

Well theres definitely alot of shortsightedness,
when it came to this promotion,
and its pretty interesting that it had come out this way.

In terms of actually getting the Nemsy,
i think if ur in the america region,
i think blizzcon has a firesde gathering,
on the 2nd or 3rd floor every year,
i think there might be something at twitchcon.

You know theres like ways to get it but u have to keep in mind,
that because there is a nemsy craze right now,
even though its a disaster right now,
the nemsy craze will die off.

So in a year or in two years,
where u end up wanting to get nemsy,
there might just be no fireside gatherings anywhere near ur area,
and that would make it close to impossible for u to get it at that point.
so yeah u might have to suffer if u really want the hero card,
and thats another aspect.


這次不圓滿的活動，

鎖定了最主要的族群，

也就是現存的爐石玩家。

如果因為這次事件少了四分之一的玩家？

且是在你花了許多時間和金錢之下發生的，

聽起來很蠢吧？


這次活動確實有很多思考不夠周延之處，

而事情發展成這樣挺有趣的。


若要真的取得奈姆希，如果你在美國地區，

印象中 Blizzcon 每年二樓還是三樓都會有爐邊聚會，

Twitchon 應該也會有些甚麼，

有各種方式可以得到她，

但要記得因為現在正有奈姆希熱潮，

相較有辦法取得，即便它是場災難，


但這熱潮遲早會消退。

一兩年之後當你想得到奈姆希，

周遭卻沒有爐邊聚會了，

到時想得到她可真的近乎不可能了。

所以你可能真的得經歷各種苦難折磨，在現在這時候得到她，

是否真的這麼想要這英雄卡就端看個人了。



They decided to run this promotion,
at the end of a hearthstone expansion cycle,
which is a problem because people dont actually give a shit,
about the actual competitiveness and other things to do with hearthsone.

Like people are more concerned right now,
about getting an extra hero skin,
than they are about getting a higher rank in rank mode,
or getting more wins in arena.
They played it out the expansion.

A lot of people did at least not everyone but alot of people,
and some people are completionists,,
u know what type of people?
people playing blizzard games.
people playing hearthstone are completionists!
hearthstone is a collectible card game.
u might think people have strong incentives,
to collect the other parts of the game,
even though there might be no performance-based aspect to those things.

Basically what im saying is if ur sitting there in ur chair,
watching this video ur like yeah i dont really care about nemsy,
what im saying is some people out there,
really desperatly care about nemsy to the point,
where they'll lose their minds,
drive hundreds of miles to go to one of these fireside gatherings,
fail and potentially quit the game,
because it didnt work and in some cases really didnt work out.

So thats kind of the situation i hope ive cleared it up,
i hope ive been concise about it,
so u understand whats going on in that regard.


暴雪決定在一個資料片的尾聲辦這次活動，

很多人現階段已經不在意爐石的天梯或競技場，

比起更高排位或更多勝場，

他們更想多一個英雄頭像，

因為絕大多數人已經玩透了這版本資料片。


而有些人就是有收集強迫症，

你知道是哪些人嗎?

就是玩你暴雪遊戲的人，

就是玩你爐石的這些人，

而爐石正好就是款卡片收集遊戲。

這些人就是有很強的收集慾望，

即便這些東西不一定會讓你遊戲表現上變得更強。


基本上我想說的是，

你可能覺得自己根本不在乎能不能拿到奈姆希，

但有些人確實會渴望得到她到一種失智的地步，

千里迢迢到一個爐邊聚會，

諸事不順最後還沒有得到奈姆希，

這可能真的會導致一些人放棄這款遊戲，

畢竟有些時候真的是會一無所獲。


所以這樣的情境希望我解釋得夠明白簡潔，

你也能了解大致上發生的事。



The other aspect the value i have to add to this situation,
is bringing it to a point of reality,
so the reality is that hearthstone is a mobile game,
and i have played a lot of mobile games in the last few years,
and i have learned a very important and key aspect,
that makes a good mobile game successful,
and that is when they fuck something up they fix it really quickly,
and add some sort of the compensation,
that is extremely generous every time this happens.

In like all the other mobile games that i play,
if theres downtime unexpectedly,
or this is just scheduled downtime.

Sorry for scheduled downtime,
we just want to give u guys more content,
but u can't play the game for 4 hours,
heres like 10 bucks worth of content, imagine that.

Imagine if the buyer try a weekly maintenance,
that hearthstone has for a few hours,
u just got like 10 packs at the end of that,
that would be mental right?

Hearthstone is not even close to the same maintenance level,
of the competing mobile games,
and i think thats an area that its suffering from greatly.

Now the other aspect to that,
is i think the people running hearthstone are getting wise to this,
finally,
and slowly,
but they're understanding this,
Thats why we're seeing some free content.
Thats why we're seeing more communication.
Thats why we're seeing slightly more updates.


另一個面向我想談到的是現實層面的問題，

而事實上爐石就是款行動裝置遊戲，

而過去幾年我玩了很多這類手機遊戲，

我了解到一個手機遊戲要能成功非常重要的一環，

就是每當遊戲公司搞砸了甚麼事情，

可以很快修補之外，

還要能願意給予玩家非常大方的補償。


我玩的其他手遊如果有緊急的系統修復，

或甚至排定的例行維護，

都會上演類似情境：

「抱歉又到了例行維護時間，

我們只是想讓你們有更多遊戲內容可以體驗，

但因為害你們四個小時玩不到遊戲，

這裡有等值十鎂的遊戲內容物品。」


假設爐石每週例行維護之後還送你個十包卡包，

那可真是瘋了。


爐石跟這些競爭對手在這種維護上的作為，差距甚大，

也是我認為爐石目前嚴重不如人之處。

然而我認為爐石團隊也慢慢體認到這些事情，

那也是為什麼我們看到了更多免費的內容，

更多的溝通，

更多的更新。



So what im saying is i think there's some chance,
there its actually possible that blizzard will be like our bad,
we kind of screwed this up we may have,
actually put some people in dangerous possibly illegal situations,
with people randomly showing up at ur house,
uninvited that u dont know are bad.

Here's another way of getting this new hero card,
we just wanted u guys to learn play hearthstone with friends,
and we made a mistake,
actually u can just use those exact words,
if ur watching from blizzard,
if u dont know how to handle the situation,
ill help u guys out, so use most of those words.

And then the next thing that u do is well,
because our idea was just to have u play hearthstone with friends,
and we understand some people living in the middle of nowhere cant do that,
except through online client,
which we try to push for the rest of hearthstone's lifetime.

We are going to let you get nemsy,
by playing with friends from your friends list online.
play ten friends and get nemsy.

Sorry about the fireside fuck-up,
and we'll try to figure something else out,
for the people who had issues with that,
and they should probably go into that side as well,
people who had really negative experience,
but did actually go to fireside gatherings to try to get nemsy,
try to compensate them in some way for their time.

Give them some packs,
there should be some kind of like code input feature for hearthstone,
just so blizzard can like easily reward people,
that have been on the short end of their mistakes.


我想說的是或許暴雪真的會承認他們的錯誤，

「或許我們真的搞砸了，

把一些人置身危險甚至違法的情境中，

好比讓人隨機出現在你家且事前還將你蒙在鼓裡。

這裡是取得這新英雄的另一種方式，

我們只是想要你學會跟朋友玩爐石而我們犯錯了。」


其實你們可以直接用我剛才講的一字一句，

如果你是暴雪的人且不知道該怎麼處理現況，

我可以幫助你們。

所以先用大部分的字句，

接著再說：

「因為我們只是希望你跟朋友玩爐石，

而我們也了解有些人住在荒郊野外的地方可能難以達成，

除非透過跟其他線上的玩家對戰，

其實也就是跟我們爐石過去未來都意圖拓展的客群對戰...

我們讓你跟好友名單中的朋友對戰就能拿到奈姆希，

跟十個朋友對戰以獲得奈姆希。

很抱歉把爐邊聚會搞砸了，我們會想辦法改善狀況。」


他們也該去照顧那些已經有了糟糕體驗的人，

試著補償他們所花的時間，

給他們一些卡包，添加爐石一個輸入序號功能，

好讓暴雪更容易補償這些人。



Yeah, basically something really should happen.
on one hand,
i think people have been really wronged in this promotion,
and on the other,
i think it is rare opportunity for blizzard to come out,
very positivily in a big way,
to save a pretty parallel situation here with,
at least some of their players.

Again i know some of you guys are just sitting there,
some of you guys just play the game,
you don't give a crap about golden heros and all that,
but some people really care about that,
and i think the people that really care about that,
are logically who really care about hearthstone,
and blizzard managed to target exactly those people
and punched them in the stomach.

So i think that needs some attention.
in any case im curious to see what you guys think,
and i encourage you guys to keep up with the honestly,
multiple times a day reddit posts on some new way,
that this event has fucked up on the hearthstone reddit,
Its just been so entertaining.

一方面許多人真的為這次活動受了不少苦，
