Dombrowski 今天下午和 Tigers 正式分道揚鑣, 合約被解約.

捕手 Alex Avila 的老爸, Al Avila, 將取代 Dombrowski 成為 Tigers 的 EVP & GM.


Dombrowski 從 2002 年接手 Tigers, 經歷了 2003 年最灰暗的 119 敗,

迅速在三年內將球隊送進季後賽還打到世界大賽

(Pudge, Car.Guillen, Inge, Granderson, Mag-O, Verlander, K.Rogers, Zumaya...)


2008 年拿到了 Miguel Cabrera (過去十年最經典交易之一),

Tigers 在 2011~2014 連續四年拿到季後賽資格, 包含 2012 的世界大賽.

經過了 14 年, Tigers 和 Domborwski 拆夥, 將朝新的方向前進.



順帶一提, Alex Avila 年末會是自由球員, 老爸會怎麼處理兒子的合約呢?


Detroit Tigers release Dave Dombrowski from contract, name Al Avila new 
general manager

DETROIT -- Dave Dombrowski is no longer employed by the Detroit Tigers.

The Tigers announced in a press release today that Al Avila has been promoted
to the role of executive vice president of baseball operations and general
manager.

Dombrowski has been released from his contract.

"I would like to thank Dave Dombrowski for his 14 years of service," owner
Mike Ilitch said in the release. "Together we've enjoyed some success, but
we're still in aggressive pursuit of our ultimate goal: to bring a World
Series title to Detroit and Michigan. I've decided to release Dave from his
contract in order to afford him the time to pursue other career
opportunities. I feel this is the right time for the Tigers to move forward
under new leadership."

Avila has been part of the Tigers organization since 2002.

"I'm very excited for this opportunity and honored and grateful to Mr. Ilitch
for having the faith and trust in me to run the ballclub in our continuing
pursuit of a World Series championship," Avila said in the release. "After 24
years in professional baseball and 14 with the Detroit Tigers, I believe I'm
uniquely qualified to be successful in this role in leading this
organization. We're confident we can make a strong push to win this year, and
that we have the foundation in place to win next year and for years to come."
