大家都很好奇Evan Gattis怎麼打出這麼多三壘安打

剛好幾天前espn有一篇,把前半段翻給大家看

The Evan Gattis club: Lots of triples, no stolen bases

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has seven triples and no stolen
bases. The zero steals isn't a surprise: Gattis isn't fast -- although he's not
Bengie Molina slow -- and has never swiped a base in his major league career.
The triples are certainly a surprise; he had just one in his two seasons with
the Atlanta Braves. So I wondered: Who's hit the most triples in a season
without stealing a base?

太空人DH-Evan Gattis今年打了七支三壘安打(截至今天是九支)和零盜壘.
零盜壘不令人意外:Gattis不快(但不是Bengie Molina那麼慢),而且生涯從來沒盜過壘.
Gattis在勇士的前兩年也僅僅打出一支三壘安打,因此今年的三壘安打量產的確很令人意外
所以筆者就好奇是誰打了最多三壘安打但單季沒盜壘.

We'll get to that in a moment. First, here are video links for Gattis'
three-baggers, because we need to see how he's hitting these triples.

筆者附上了一些影片讓大家知道Gattis的安打怎麼發生的

July 28: High off the wall in left-center at Minute Maid Park, caroms past the
center fielder for an easy stand-up triple.

打到Minute Maid公園左中外野高牆,球反彈,越過中外野手掉到中外野

July 26: No link, but Gattis hits a ball to right-center that Lorenzo Cain
drops and then has roll away from him. Could have been ruled a three-base error
(although Cain had to run a long way to get to it).

打到Lorenzo Cain的管區,跑了很遠一段距離接到球但掉出來(其實可以記失誤)

July 17: Hit to deep right-center at Minute Maid, just off the glove of Texas
Rangers center fielder Leonys Martin. Relay throw might have gotten Gattis but
hits him as he slides in.

打到Minute Maid中右外野深遠處,遊騎兵中外野手Leonys Martin差點接到.轉傳可能抓到
Gattis但打到他身上

June 30: Hit onto Tal's Hill and Cain stumbles and falls going after it.
Stand-up three-bagger.

打到Tal's Hill(中外野小山丘),Cain跌倒

June 28: Another deep fly to left-center at Minute Maid. Brett Gardner fails in
his attempt to make a leaping grab, and the ball rebounds back toward center
field.

一樣飛到Minute Maid中左外野大牆.Brett Gardner試圖跳接,可惜球反彈到中外野.

May 24: At Comerica Park, the right fielder was shaded way over toward center,
as Gattis shoots a soft liner into the right-field corner.

在Comerica公園(老虎主場), 右外野手站位稍微靠中間,Gattis打了一球飛向右外野邊線的
軟弱平飛球,一路滾到邊邊

May 21: Hit into that triples alley in right-center at Comerica, Gattis coasts
into third with another stand-up triple.

打到Comerica中右外野的三壘安打區

So only four of the triples came at Minute Maid, with a couple of them a
direct result of the odd configurations in the outfield. But it's not like
Minute Maid is a big triples park -- the rest of the Astros have combined for
just five triples all season, three of those at home. Gattis hits the ball deep
and has had some lucky bounces along the way.

只有四支三壘安打是在Minute Maid打出,兩支是因為大牆的反彈.太空人全隊(除了Gattis)
也只在主場打出三支三壘安打,所以Minute Maid不是那種很常出現三壘安打的球場.只能說
Gattis把球打的很遠,然後偶爾得到幸運反彈.

上述只有七支三壘安打.Gattis本季包含今天是九支

第八支是打到巨人主場中左外野全壘打牆,又高又遠,中外野跳接沒接到,變成三壘安打

今天這支是打到太空人主場中右外野深處,典型三壘安打情況

Anyway, the distinction of hitting the most triples in a season without
stealing a base belongs to Johnny Mize. The Hall of Fame first baseman actually
has the top two such seasons, which is pretty cool: He had 16 triples and no
steals in 1938 and followed that up with a 14/0 season in 1939. In 1940, Mize
hit 13 triples but stole seven bases. He finished with 28 steals for his
career.

單季最多三壘安打+沒盜壘的人是Johnny Mize.這為名人堂一壘手其實有兩個"很多三壘安
打+沒盜壘"的球季.蠻酷的.第一次是1938年,16支三壘安打.隔年打出14/0.1940年時,Mize
打了13支三壘安打但也盜了七個壘包.最後他生涯總盜壘是28.(三個球季加起來就有43支三
壘安打...)
