Barrry Zito closes season, possibly career, with perfect inning



Barry Zito pitched a scoreless inning Sunday in relief for Triple-A Nashville.

　　Barry Zito 在3A最後一場比賽中後援登板投出三上三下。

After the game, teammates showered the 37-year-old Zito with beer and
champagne, according to CBS Sports.

　　賽後這位37歲的前賽揚名投接受隊友啤酒和香賓的洗禮。

The former Cy Young winner with the A's won't be promoted this month to
finish the season for the team on which he rose to stardom.

It's possible Zito won't pitch again as a professional.

　　綠帽隊九月擴編並沒有打算把 Zito 升上這個讓他開始發光發熱的舞台，
　　而這場小聯盟比賽可能是 Zito 職棒生涯的最後一場比賽。

For the season, the lefty finished with a 3.48 ERA in 24 appearances.

For his career, Zito went 165-143 in 430 appearances, won the 2002 Cy Young,
was a three-time All-Star and signed a seven-year, $126 million contract
before the 2007 season.

Not bad for one of the game's greatest free spirits.
