The holiday shopping season may be over, but Major League Baseball clubs are
still working on their offseason wish lists.

Here's a look at some of the latest Hot Stove rumblings floating around the
big leagues:

White Sox linked to top outfielders

The White Sox appear to be a possible landing spot for Justin Upton and the
club has also been linked to Alex Gordon, according to a report in the Boston
Globe.

Though the same report said Gordon would prefer to return to the Royals,
Kansas City was reportedly told this week it had "no chance" to sign the
outfielder.

Upton and Gordon each rejected a $15.8 million qualifying offer this
offseason, so the White Sox would have to forfeit a first-round pick in the
2016 Draft if they sign either player.

‧ 2016 Draft order

The White Sox have already been active this winter, dealing for third baseman
Todd Frazier and infielder Brett Lawrie to boost their offense.

Tigers waiting on Cespedes

Yoenis Cespedes is one of the few top-tier free agents left on the market,
and the Tigers appear to be waiting for the outfielder to lower his price
tag, according to USA Today.

Cespedes is said to be seeking a contract of at least six years and near the
$150 million mark.

The Tigers have already made a splash in free agency, inking starting pitcher
Jordan Zimmermann to a five-year contract worth roughly $110 million.
The Tigers are familiar with Cespedes, having acquired him in a trade with
the Red Sox last offseason. Cespedes hit .293 in 102 games with Detroit
before being dealt to the Mets at the Trade Deadline this year.

Cardinals, Rockies talking trade?

The Cardinals are said to have interest in trading for a Rockies outfielder,
and a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch speculates that the Cards would
be more likely to deal for Corey Dickerson or Charlie Blackmon than slugger
Carlos Gonzalez.

Any potential deal between the two clubs is thought to come down to Matt
Adams, and it's not clear if the Cardinals are ready to trade away the first
baseman.

The Rockies have been fielding calls on their outfielders all offseason and
are expected to seek starting pitching in return.

Dodgers favorites for Maeda?

In need of rotation help, the Dodgers are said to be the front-runners to
sign right-hander Kenta Maeda of Japan's Hiroshima Carp, according to the
Boston Globe.

The Dodgers met with Maeda on Thursday, according to several Japanese media
outlets. However, the club is thought to prefer a trade for Marlins ace Jose
Fernandez or Rays right-hander Jake Odorizzi. The Dodgers have also been
linked to free-agent left-hander Scott Kazmir.

Maeda's 30-day posting period concludes Jan. 8, and he has been in the U.S.
for two weeks meeting with clubs. To get Maeda, who turns 28 in April, a club
should expect to pay his Japanese team a $20 million release fee, plus a
five-year contract for roughly $80 million.

Marlins could deal lefty reliever

It appears the Marlins will trade reliever Mike Dunn this winter, as the club
has received some interest in the left-hander, according to the Boston Globe.
But it's not clear which teams have contacted Miami, and no deal appears
imminent.

Dunn has made at least 72 appearances in three straight seasons and in four
of the last five.
