That got the attention of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The
animal rights group sent out a press release calling Perez's actions
"vengeful" and sent him a package of vegan treats.
"We hope that upon reflection, you'll feel that making a show of eating him
was not only a cruel thing to do but also an unjustifiable, vengeful act that
makes you look small," PETA wrote. "Bulls are surely worthy of respect and
admiration."
So far Perez has yet to respond -- and this is probably where the saga will
end.
However, it does add an interesting subplot if Perez should ever end up
facing Baltimore Orioles designated hitter Pedro "El Toro" Alvarez at some
point during the upcoming season.
