Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jake Jewell suffered what appeared to be a serious
ankle injury while covering home plate after a wild pitch against the Boston
Red Sox on Wednesday night.
洛杉磯天使投手Jake Jewell在星期三面對紅襪時，在奔向本壘補位時受到可能是嚴重的腳
踝傷害。

While on the mound in the eighth inning, Jewell unleashed a wild pitch to Red
Sox batter Mitch Moreland. J.D. Martinez, who was on third base, ran for home
while Angels catcher Martin Maldonado fielded the ball and threw it to
Jewell, who ran to cover the base. Jewell slipped while covering home plate
and his right foot got twisted awkwardly under him. He was then carted off
the field.
八局的時候，Jewell對紅襪打者Moreland投了一個暴投，三壘的J.D. Martinez奔向本
壘，捕手Maldonado奔去撿球，然後要傳給補位的Jewell。Jewell在嘗試要到本壘時滑倒，

Jewell, who was recalled from the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday, was
making just his third career major-league appearance.
