The Astros placed reigning American League Most Valuable Player Jose Altuve
iｮ the 10-day disabled list for the first time in Altuve's eight-year career
, Houston manager AJ Hinch announced following Saturday's 7-3 loss tｯ the
Rangers.

Altuve has not played since he was removed from the fourth inning of
Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field with right knee discomfort,
a lingering injury that caused pain in the second baseman's knee days prior
to his in-game exit. Altuve said he met with Astros team doctors on Saturday,
and they believed a DL stint was necessary.
