Outside of the Mets’ blistering 11-1 start to the season, there hasn’t been
much for Mets fans to be happy about this year. Todd Frazier, though, gave
the Mets faithful reason to smile with some good, old-fashioned gamesmanship
this week.
除了開季戰績11-1外，整年梅子粉大概沒什麼好開心的惹。不過，Todd Frazier用了個老
套但是有效的花招讓大家會心一笑。

During Monday’s game against the Dodgers, Frazier appeared to make a sweet
diving catch into the stands. He held a baseball up to the umpire after
making the apparent grab and got the out.
星期一梅子跟躲人比賽，Frazier似乎完成了一個衝進觀眾席接殺界外球的守備，他把球舉
高，給裁判看，像是接到了球，打者得要出局。

The Mets broadcast went back and reviewed to tape only to notice that Frazier
duped third base umpire Mark Wegner with a decoy baseball. Take a look:
梅子的轉播員回去看重播，發現Frazier用了一個假球騙到了三壘審Wegner。請看：

As Frazier fell into the stands, he lost hold of the baseball. But he was
able to grab a nearby “rubber” youth baseball that dropped beside him. He
showed that baseball to Wegner and got the out. The actual baseball was
picked up by a fan in a Justin Turner jersey. Knowing that he was holding
onto a non-regulation baseball, Frazier tossed the decoy ball into the stands
before anyone could question the legitimacy of that catch.
當Frazier衝進觀眾席時，他其實球已經掉了，但是他拿了一個在他旁邊地上的橡膠棒
球，他把這顆球給三壘審看，抓下一個出局。而實際上的真球是被旁邊一個穿著Justin
Turner球衣的觀眾撿到。Frazier知道他手裡的這顆球不是比賽球，所以在其他人開始懷疑
他到底有沒有接到那顆界外球前，他就把這顆假球丟進觀眾席去了。

Frazier’s poker face was also on point. He played it off like he made the
catch and didn’t bust out an over-the-top celebration to draw suspicion.
Frazier的撲克臉也是很到位，他演的就像是接到了球，沒有太過慶祝笑場而讓人起疑。

It was easily the best deception of the MLB season. And it came from the
Mets! Who could have seen that coming?
這大概是MLB本季最佳欺敵表演吧，而且是梅子！誰能想得到呢？
