After 14 seasons in the Major Leagues, including 12 with the St. Louis
Cardinals, Matt Carpenter has announced his retirement.
Congratulations on a great career, Matt! Whether it was on the field or in
the community, you represented our city with class.

正式結束職棒球員生涯
合計14年的大聯盟生涯，其中在紅雀隊待了12年，另外還有效力過洋基隊以及教士隊
一共出賽1511場，繳出1257支安打、179發全壘打、659分打點
通算打擊三圍 .259/.366/.449 OPS 0.814
生涯三度入選大聯盟全明星賽，並且曾經在2013年球季獲選國家聯盟二壘手銀棒獎
