Brian Cashman says "I think so" when asked if he believes Anthony Volpe will be
the Yankees' shortstop once he's healthy:
"I believe in the player still, we believe in the player. It doesn't mean that w
e don't play with all aspects of roster assessments.
He's 24 years old, I don't think New York's stage is too big for him. He's still
finding his way. The age, there's a lot of value to reminding yourself of that.
You watch the NFL, these number 1 pick quarterbacks that franchises put everythi
ng in...you see players that you expect a lot early on from, but then they're no
t living up to their growing pains. Then they wind up in a different environment
, now they're leading their teams.
Sometimes, this isn't linear. It's also not guaranteed, and that's why it's alwa
ys fair to assess what you have. That, I promise you, always takes place."
Brian Cashman adds that he believes Volpe's shoulder injury did play a role in h
is performance this season

Cashman還補充說，他相信Volpe的肩膀傷勢確實對他本季的表現造成了一定影響
