[新聞] MTA shuts down subway for first time

The subway system suspended all service at 11 p.m. Monday — the first time a
blizzard has caused a total shutdown.

紐約地鐵系統自星期一下午11點暫停服務 — 第一次因暴風雪造成系統完全關閉。

City bus and commuter bus services were also suspended at 11 p.m.

市公車與通勤巴士也同時於下午11點暫停。

That included the Rockland Coaches that depart from the Port Authority and the
 George Washington Bridge.

包括自航港局與喬治華盛頓大橋出發的Rockland Coach通勤巴士。

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said the system will be shuttered fo
r as long as the nor’easter lasts. But it also takes about eight hours to get
 the sprawling system back up and running.

MTA(紐約都會運輸署)表示地鐵系統視東北風雪情況而開啟，但仍需八小時讓錯綜的地鐵
系統恢復運作。

The plan had been to provide limited service overnight. But Gov. Cuomo said ar
ound 5 p.m. that the forecasts had worsened.

原本計畫隔夜後要重啟有限的營運，但州長Andrew Cuomo說五點左右天氣預測又惡化了。


The system has never completely shut down due to a snowstorm before, according
 to the MTA. A snowstorm in 1996 forced the MTA to shut some lines.

據MTA，紐約地鐵未曾因風雪造成全面關閉。只曾於1996年因風雪關閉幾條線。

The MTA will have updated information on its website, web.mta.info. Commuters
can also call 511 for alerts.

MTA會在官網 web.mta.info. 更新消息。遇緊急狀況用路人可摳511求助。
